As DDC (District Development Council) Elections are in operation in Jammu and Kashmir for the very first time.

With these elections the election for panch and sarpanch was also announced for those villages where these seats were vacant.

Candidates for Sarpanch Election

There were 4 Candidates from Jaganoo who Filed Nomination to be elected as sarpanch of jaganoo but one candidate withdrew his nomination from the elections.

 The final 3 candidates were 

 

                         Rakesh Sharma 

 

                         Sehdev Singh

 

                         Ganesh Sharma

Candidates Election Symbol

Rakesh Sharma got Road Roller as his Election Symbol.

 

Sehdev Singh got Sewing Machine as his Election Symbol.

 

Ganesh Sharma got Cylinder as his Election Symbol.

 

The polling day was 13th of December, 2020

Election commission of India choose 3 polling stations for sarpanch election along with DDC election.

Polling Stations

1st polling station was Govt. Senior Secondary School Jaganoo for Ward No. 1, Ward No. 2, Ward No. 3, Ward No. 4

2nd polling station was Primary School Bhagpur for Two wards of Bhagpur.

3rd polling station was Primary School Ser for Two wards of Marore along with village Ser.

Voting

Voting time was from 7am to 2pm.

Heavy crowd of voters was seen at all the polling stations. 

There were 1756 number of voters are registered by BDO Jaganoo and the number of voters appeared for voting on that was 1402. Total votes casted by the people of Jaganoo was 79.84% which shows public was so engaged with these local Elections.
